No matter what you do they are going to come apart, wear down, explode ect. They are foam tires. There is no magic tire for rc drag racing.

Most of the time my tires wear down from braking more than running down the track. If the shut down area is ruff, tires are going to wear down very quickly.

Exploding tires..... too much power, lots of wheel spin or hitting a bump in the track and getting air born, they are coming apart no matter who's they are.

Power and traction is the name of the game, and when you have too much of one and not enough of the other........ thinks go BOOM lol.

I run TM's on my funny car and have very little trouble with them. Only exploded one set, cause i got air born. The rest just wore down from running and braking as normal. Thats around 20 sets of tires in the last 2 years ive been running Electric Funny Car.

I get anywhere from 1 to 4 passes out of a set (depending on how much tire spin and braking). The last race I ran 4 passes on 2 sets. Could have gone one more pass also. That was in the 1.61 to 1.65 range at 87+mph.

1) Keep axle rpm under 10K loaded
2) Don't free-spin the tires

I'm on my third year of running T.M.R. foams. Tony says they're good to 10K. It's hard keeping axle rpm under 10K loaded with today's high-revving BL motors - at least in the pro classes. Sportsman classes, doable.

Free-spinning the tires in the pits or the shop at home really tugs at the bond between the foam and the rim. Resist the urge.

Oh yeah I forgot about that AC, don't free rev it on the bench...... Or anywhere..... Ever!
That can do more than just blow a tire..... Like bend a hub and or axle. Seen that a few times.... YIKES.

Funny thing guys, Tony at TM makes the GMS tires for Mike and I am almost positive that he also does the tires for for Paul at Walbern.

The tires that aren't done by TM are the Lockman Precision and Litespeed Tires.

i think the lockman tires would be best. people tell me good things about them. yet Litespeed can hold 1.5 runs all day
